Panasonic has announced on 23-09-2021 that they will stop production of refrigeration compressors at the Panasonic Appliances Refrigeration Devices Singapore. The factory has been in operation for 49 years. They will continue production for this year's and will start to reduce production from April 2022 and put a stop on production at the Singapore factory by September, 2022.
Panasonic will consolidate the compressor manufacturing operations to their existing facilities in Malaysia and in China.
